What to check

Excel-to-CSV exports one selected sheet and does not preserve workbook formatting or formulas as formulas.
Digits already lost in numeric Excel cells cannot be recovered. Another spreadsheet app may auto-format values on opening.

Common problems and fixes

Characters look garbled: The output CSV includes a UTF-8 BOM. Try importing it in Excel and explicitly choosing UTF-8.
